Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered.

Expert guidance for your recreational diving journey in Lebanon.

What is a “Try Scuba” experience?
It is a one-day program designed for people with **zero experience**. After a short briefing on the boat, a professional instructor takes you for a guided underwater tour in the shallow, beautiful reefs of Jounieh. It’s the perfect first step into the ocean!
What is the minimum age for kids to dive?
Children as young as 10 years old can join our recreational programs. We specialize in family sessions where parents and kids can experience their first dive together in a safe and fun environment.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
For a **Try Scuba** experience, you just need to be comfortable in the water. For certification courses, you’ll need to demonstrate basic swimming skills, but you don’t need to be an Olympic athlete!
How many students are in a class?
We believe in personalized attention. Most of our sessions are **1-on-1** for maximum safety. For special events like birthdays or anniversaries, we often do **1-on-2** sessions so you can share the moment with your partner.
How long does a typical “Fun Dive” take?
A standard boat dive trip usually takes about 2 to 3 hours including the boat ride from Safra/Jounieh, the briefing, the dive itself, and some social time on deck!
Which certification is better: SSI or NAUI?
Both are globally recognized for recreational diving. **SSI** is great for those who love digital learning and flexibility, while **NAUI** has a wonderful history of high educational standards. At SDLL, we offer both to fit your preference.
Can I dive if I wear contact lenses?
Yes! Many of our divers wear soft contact lenses under their masks without any issues. We also offer advice on prescription masks if you prefer that option.
Is Scuba Diving a safe activity?
Absolutely. Recreational diving is very safe when conducted by professionals. We prioritize hygiene, well-maintained equipment, and small group sizes to ensure every dive is stress-free.
What should I bring for my dive day?
Just bring your swimsuit, a towel, and a sense of adventure! We provide all the high-quality scuba gear you need for your fun dives and courses.
Can I dive if I have a cold or sinus congestion?
It’s best to wait until you’re clear. Congestion can make it difficult to “equalize” (clear your ears) underwater. We are happy to reschedule your dive so you can enjoy it fully when you’re feeling 100%.
Do you offer group discounts for friends?
Yes! We love growing the diving community. Check our “Dive Plans” page for season memberships and multi-dive packs that offer great savings for frequent fun divers.
What makes SDLL different from other clubs?
We are a **family-run club** focused on community. When you dive with us, you aren’t just a customer; you’re part of the SDLL family. We focus on fun, safety, and creating lifelong memories in the Keserwan area.
